Although the savings is significant when we are able to shoot a deer, the disappointment is we love the taste of venison far more than beef or pork.Debbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919793216222224648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3021681465136413517.post-92206466716575495312012-11-20T14:14:14.589-06:002012-11-20T14:14:14.589-06:00We aren't hunters, but I have been catching th...We aren't hunters, but I have been catching the Thanksgiving sales and stocking my freezer with turkeys this week. I don't think I could hunt, but I think it is great if you can feed your family over the winter/year with the byproduct of your efforts. It must be so disappointing to be planning on that meat and to have it be a bust. I can't imagine! They are so disruptive to the environment it's not good. And I don't believe I would want to eat them. I dropped by from Sew Many Ways and I will again. Take care. On the other hand it's not allowed to shoot deer though. They are a proteced game (in Holland, as far as I know it is allowed in the rest of Europe) and are only shot when there are too many deer in a certain part of the country. <br />Too bad for you to have to depend on your butcher now. I DO hope you buy ecological and "green" meat though....Biancahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13124458364369038191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3021681465136413517.post-83195391201447943832012-11-19T07:52:37.526-06:002012-11-19T07:52:37.526-06:00Sorry you can't fill your larder with venison....Sorry you can't fill your larder with venison.
