Getting ready for the next and most important leg of this journey I have been on for the last four months. I leave tomorrow once again for Montreal but I will have a couple of days to explore that wonderful city.
Remember to give your loved ones a hug!

Unfinished Projects
Pin It
I have been working on UFO's (unfinished objects/projects) trying to clean up my craft room before the gorgeous weather hits and I am out in the garden all day.
I finished up a project for Luke's apartment..... Luke and his girlfriend Sara have decided to move out of the dorm and into an apartment come May 1st.
They are both very excited and moving into their first 'place' comes the hunt for bargains to decorate that place! He asked me if I would make a few items for them and I was very happy to oblige .... not only does it save them money, but it reduces my stash of craft supplies AND will hopefully make their place feel like 'home'.
The apartment has only linoleum flooring .... no carpets so they are in need of throw rugs. Having a large stash of yarn from Goodwill, I got to work trying to recreate a rag rug but with yarn.
The yarn I used was pre-rolled with three thickness of worsted weight yarn so I knew it would make it nice and full with very little gaps.

I also had some of the no skid/trip rubber backing in my stash and added to the back of the throw rug.
I just used single crochet .... I didn't follow a pattern. I kind of made it up as I went along. I hope they like it ...... now onto throw pillows!

Good Morning Friends
Pin It
Good Morning friends. First I want to wish each and every one of you a Happy Easter and I hope you had a great time with your family and friends.
Our Easter was spent on the road heading to the emergency room. My son Luke has been having some stomach problems which explains some of my absence.
Six months ago he weighed 296 pounds. Today he weighs in at 191.4 pounds. He has constant stomach pain and can barely eat.
We have been seeing doctors and now are waiting for more tests. The doctors are thinking that it might be Crohn's disease.

Old pants - size 44 New pants - size 36
Luke is very tall - 6 feet 7 inches and 191 pounds barely covers his skin. All of us are extremely concerned but he remains in good spirits.
I apologize I do not have the time to visit all of your blogs. Know that I am thinking of you wishing you the best.
I will return after he has been diagnosed and things are back to normal. We would appreciate prayers and well wishes my friends. Please keep us in your thoughts.
Enjoy the weather and please remember to give your loved ones a hug! =)

Woo Hoo!!! One Proud Mamma!

Busy weekend with hunters and much excitement. Saturday morning started out slow with many shots heard all around us but not from any of our men. Then bang ... but nothing. Our great nephew Chase shot at a doe but it got away. Disappointment!
Around 3:30pm, they headed out once again. At about 4:40 we heard shots, then Chase running in the door yelling Luke got a buck!
We whooped for joy as it is Luke's first hunting experience and with one shot in the neck at 75 yards he bagged an eight point buck.

The rule around here is.... if you shot it, you gut it. Luke had no problem and Loren our brother-in-law guided him along.

I was never so proud and excited. We jumped on the four-wheeler, tagged and dragged it to the shop where the engine hoist was ready for gutting.
Neighbors nearby were at the shop immediately to check it out. Many handshakes, pats on the back and then the cutting began.

After the messy job was done, we headed to the house for a huge turkey dinner to celebrate.
Unfortunately the rest of the weekend turned up nothing else but there is still 2 and 1/2 weeks left to fill all the tags. We aren't too worried. LOL
Luke and I are headed to Canada tomorrow for some appointments so I will be back on Wednesday. Have a great evening!
