Happy Anniversary Honey!

Five years ago today, I married my best friend.  It only took him 47 years to find me!
The last five years have held many challenges, tears, laughter and good times but we remain strong and true.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to be together this anniversary but my heart and thoughts are with you today honey!
Looking forward to the next 20 or 30 years!

Love you and miss you!!!

A Surprise

Pin It In my mailbox today, there was a lovely surprise!

I received a package from a dear friend of mine Darlene for my birthday. She is always surprising me with treats that are not only unexpected but that I love.

Isn't the birthday card adorable?! So sweet.

Inside was some lovely vintage material and some new cleaning cloths that I have never tried before.

The vintage material brought tears to my eyes as it reminds me of a tablecloth that my Grandma use to have.

The colors are exactly the same as hers and I wouldn't be surprised if the pattern is the same too!

I will be making myself a tablecloth with this material and everytime I use it, I will not only be remembering my dear friend Darlene but also of my Grandma. I really wish my Grandma was still around so I could visit with her. I miss her very much.

Thank you Darlene from the bottom of my heart. You really made my birthday special! Now off to try those cleaning cloths she sent!

Have a great day everyone and remember to give your loved ones a hug! =)

Wonderful friends

I have made some wonderful friends over the internet. Friends that I have never met in person but we keep in touch through sites and blogs that we all visit regularly. These ''cyber'' friends have touched my heart many times with their thoughtfulness.

Yesterday I received a large parcel in the mail. It was from one of my ''cyber'' friends that I have never met but have spoken to on the phone many times.

Darlene aka 'dean' send me these lovely items as a Christmas present! I carefully unwrapped each item that she sent, amazed at her thoughtfulness.

The pinecone ornament she made herself and it is just wonderful. So creative (I just have to steal her idea!). There was also another little ornament of a little child angel. Both now adorn my Christmas tree. The Christmas book I have already begun to fill in the blanks but the best part was she signed the inside front cover. Now each year when I pull out this book, I will remember her kindness. The picture of the mittens now hangs on my wall and the little unwrapped present sits on my china hutch....it had a special message attached that read...

This is a very special gift
That you can never see
The reason it's so special is
It's just for you from me
You never can unwrap it
Please leave the ribbon tied
Just hold the box close to your heart
It's filled with love inside
Thanks Darlene, I will treasure them always. :)

My Best Friends

Not only is family priceless but so are friends. When I moved from my hometown to live with my hubby in another city, I not only gave up spending time with my family but with my best buddies.

Erin and Ryan are those best buddies. Erin and I had worked together for many, many years at an elementary school and had become very close. We still are but we cherish our time together even more now.

They visit at least 2 -3 times a year and we look forward to when they can come and spend some time with us.

Erin and her doggy Rufus.

Not the most flattering picture and I am sure I will hear about it when I talk to her next time but I think she is adorable anyway.

This is her husband Ryan. He is just as goofy as she is. He is a true hunter and fisherman and loves the talks he shares with Pasie when they are together.

The guys. These two are inseparable and dangerous for practical jokes when together.

Here is Erin at her best. She and Barb were having a blast one evening. This picture represents Erin's goofy nature that I love.
We miss these guys very much and unfortunately I don't have a picture of their two children Matthew and Morgan. They also come and never want to leave! The arguing that goes between the kids and the parents is amusing when it is time for them to head home.
I miss these guys very much and love them with all my heart. They both have been the best friends that a person could ask for.
Don't forget to give your loved ones a hug! :)
