You all are familiar with obsession with Pinterest. I recently have decided to start working through some of the projects I have been pinning before I have enough to last me into my next life!
Having an itch to sew something, I collected some pretty fabric the other day and began cutting. I fell in love with this and thought it would be a cute and quick project that I could finish before having to start dinner.
In the evenings, I crochet, knit, mend clothes, sew and now I have started to embroider and well ..... little tiny pieces of thread and yarn seem to end up everywhere! I thought a thread catcher would be a great addition to my side table. It would hopefully hold all those stray threads and yarn that usually stick to the couch, my sweater, my slacks, the cats ..... you get the idea.
This was a fun and fast pattern! The part that took the longest was choosing which buttons I wanted to use. It was so fast in fact, that I made one for you!!
Yes, I made an extra thread catcher and would love to give one of my lovely readers a chance to win their very own along with a few other little goodies ..... your very own cross-stitch bookmark to make, a pair of scissors and some needles.
Just leave me a note in the comment section and I will draw a winner on Friday, March 1st.
I love my little thread catcher. Faithfully using it each evening while I work on my needlework, there are no longer any stray threads laying or 'sticking' around. I hope the winner will enjoy theirs just as much!
Have a wonderful day and remember to give your loved ones a hug!
Debbie that is so cute! I love the bookmark mes sage . I haven't sewn anything in quite some time(machine is gone ) Great idea btw,
ReplyDeleteHow cute and handy. I'd love a chance to win one of these.I know exactly what you mean about all the threads and points stuck everywhere. Hubby says I leave a trail! Thank you for the chance

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little "gadget."
ReplyDeleteI could use one of those!
M :)
The birds would appreciate this cute little pocket as well if you save the threads and yarn for their nesting material! Would love to follow you on Pinterest if I could find you there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! I could definitely use a thread catcher.
ReplyDeleteI can use a thread catcher too! Very cute idea. Love the bookmark!
ReplyDeleteGreat project! As the messiest baker, crafter, painter, and gardener, I can use all the help I can get. Happy Wednesday from the enchanted oven.

I like to throw my threads on the floor when I'm sewing. Very therapeutic. But then they "walk" all over the whole house! I think I need this catcher. :) Thanks for sharing your talents!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. And your choice of fabric is so cheerful and cute. I would love a chance to win this and if I did I could save all my snippets of threads for the springtime nest building around my place. Thank you for sharing and giving us all the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI love your little thread catcher. Very cute! I'd love to enter your giveaway.

What a cute idea! Count me in and thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have had this catcher marked for a while now. I would love to win it, but if not I guess I could just make it. Yours turned out very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have an obsession with Pinterest, too! So many great ideas, and not nearly enough time to try them all.
ReplyDeleteI love the thread catcher--what a clever idea. My girls and I are always into some project or another, and I find bits on the couch, in pockets, on the dogs...
I would like to be in your draw too. These are nice and pretty. I've made some of them before, a litttle bit different though, and with a drawstring. Can be used for jewellery.
ReplyDeleteI would love this. Pick me.pick me :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute idea! I just love it! I am going to find the pattern right now!
